The 3rd edition of the MGS, from July 3 to 5, 2009 at The Palais des congrès de Montréal. - The show where you can admire, try out and purchase the most beautiful guitars (steel string, classical, gypsy and jazz archtop) handcrafted by the world's greatest luthiers. -
The MGS is an event devoted exclusively to guitar lutherie! In keeping with the philosophy of promoting music making, the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal launched the Montreal Guitar Show in 2007. The aim: to spread the word about these artists and artisans-true stars in the eyes of guitarists-who devote their lives to this amazing instrument, and to offer all guitar fans the ultimate event for coming together, all in a perfectly suited venue. A venue where they can admire, try out and purchase the most beautiful guitars handcrafted by the world's greatest luthiers. More than ever, the MGS is a tour of the world of lutherie, nothing less than guitar heaven for all guitar aficionados!
A new room for electric guitar luthiers and high-end suppliers
The Montreal Guitar Show, already among the most prestigious lutherie shows for acoustic, classical, gypsy-style and archtop guitars, is innovating by welcoming for 2009, a new member to the MGS luthier family: the ever-popular electric guitar! The expanded MGS (after only two editions!) will now include an all-new hall specifically for electric guitars, which will pave the way for the arrival of dozens of electric guitar luthiers as well as small manufacturers of high-end accessories, including amplifiers, pedals and effects.
Guitar fans or amateur musicians, we'll be waiting for you! In the meantime, visit our regularly updated website to find out which luthiers will be participating in the Show and about the activity program, or to reserve your hotel stay at a competitive price.
